As I stood this morning looking into the sky around 5:30 am, I gazed at the moon and the stars in the still dark sky. I said to myself “thank you God”. Somewhere in the world I am sure there must have been someone else gazing into the sky and saying “thank you big bang”.
For me the heavens did not provide evidence of anything. They declared to me the wisdom and power of the creator. Psalms 19:1 says “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.” God doesn’t need evidence of His existence. The sun and moon and stars and oceans and all of life simply declare it.
You see when I look at the world through the light of the bible. Everything…yes everything makes sense. I do not have to wonder about my origins or the origins of the universe. I know how the stars got there. I know how rivers and streams and canyons were created. No other view can say this. Then on top of that he gives us the ability to discover and use his greatness to improve our everyday life. It is called science. I can observe his handiwork; I can test his laws and use them to create technology.
I encourage you to read the rest of Psalm 19 this morning. Then look around and see the declaration of the omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient God. “I AM”
